Happy Thanksgiving from Slumberland Solutions!

Gobble...Gobble 🦃

While we're all excited that the holidays are starting, we might be concerned about how our schedules and routines could be affected. If you’re concerned, let's chat. We can discuss strategies to keep you on schedule (or close to your schedule) even with grandparents visiting or if you're traveling and away from home. And remember, once you return home, you can go right back to your healthy schedule and routine.

Be mindful that consistency is key, but we all need to be flexible too. For example, if grandparents are visiting, you can include them in your bedtime routine. Have Grandma and Grandpa give baths and read books at bedtime. Even if it takes them a little longer than usual, that's ok. Remember, this is special bonding time for your little one and his grandparents. And as a bonus, you and your partner can have some quiet time to yourselves. It's a win-win all around!

If you're traveling, you might be concerned that your child won't settle in an unfamiliar crib or bed. To make the transition smoother, bring some of her favorite sleep items, such as a sleep sack, a lovey, and even her pillow and/or sheets. Sometimes, the smell of linens from home is enough to help her feel secure in a different environment.

For more tips, and to discuss your family's sleep and behavior challenges, contact me at any time. This is a time to enjoy the holidays with family and friends, and not stress about being off schedule for a few days.

Wishing you all a happy and healthy holiday season!
